The lower foothills are like you said, crispy brown, not gold. We're up in the pines, and surprisingly the mountain lakes are not bad, but the valley lakes are awful. Heard there was another fire nearby, but was put out very quickly.DebbieMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14098946439067724168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5035932613092671755.post-5926394613001314492014-09-03T13:57:25.625-07:002014-09-03T13:57:25.625-07:00I thought about your place in the foothills and wo...I thought about your place in the foothills and wondered how the drought was impacting you :-(. We have an off-leash beach near San Francisco that we visit with him occasionally. <br />I'm hoping for more rain this winter too! The hike we took yesterday in the Sierra Foothills showed us just how dry it is. No water cascading over the falls was just plain sad :-(Rene https://www.blogger.com/profile/12780561678301320661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5035932613092671755.post-21581839364489015352014-09-02T06:51:44.342-07:002014-09-02T06:51:44.342-07:00There was a Dobie at San Simeon that looked like h...There was a Dobie at San Simeon that looked like her :-).Jodee Gravelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02247098923871155546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5035932613092671755.post-11478323326869403922014-09-02T05:59:26.345-07:002014-09-02T05:59:26.345-07:00Duchess loves the sand under her feet too. What a shame ...Cayucos is such a sweet little town. What a shame that the state park was so terribly affected by the drought that there is virtually no water available. I sure hope this is a wet winter...unfortunately it is going to take several years of wet winters before this is over...unless we are in a hundred year drought as I've heard some folks talk about. Just terrible.Metamorphosis Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07637866156639686101noreply@blogger.com
