Doctor and vet appointments, lab work, dental and periodontal appointments, vehicle maintenance, rig warranty work and maintenance, picking up the mail, stocking the pantry - all that grown-up stuff that needs doing, but isn't particularly great blog fodder.
We're getting it all done while back in Santa Clarita for the month, expecting we won't be back in the area for a long time. The time is going by quickly, hard to believe we've been in one spot for two weeks!
While it's less than interesting, it does feel so responsible to get it all done :-))))
More fun has been the time spent with Ezra! Just hanging out with him and his mommy is so fun. Missing that will definitely be the hardest part of "leaving" this time.
Following one appointment we stopped by Bill's former work place for a surprise visit. Great to see everyone, all of them excited to hear about our adventures, and of course for Bill to know he never has to go back to the job!
My "borrowed-daughter" Megan joined us for brunch with Ezra and his parents - we had a great time getting caught up.

The weather has been hot and cold and windy and calm, even a little rain one morning. We've been very comfortable in our little storage lot :-)
Still plenty to get done in the next two weeks - some more practical stuff to check off the list, and hopefully lots more time with family and friends.

Time back home always flies by with all those appointments, meeting with friends, and seeing family. There never seems to be enough time especially when the road is calling. Glad to see you are getting in some grandbaby time:)
ReplyDeleteAnd boy is that road calling!!!!
DeleteAwwwwww the baby is so cute!!!! Can't wait to see you soon! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI swear he gets cuter every day :-) Me too!
DeleteIt will be hard to leave that sweet baby. It is so much easier to get all that "business" done in a familiar place with trusted people. It seems to usually take us a month too. Did life always ga e so much business?
ReplyDeleteI guess when it was all "spread out" it didn't seem like the routine stuff took so much time, but we've sure been busy with it now!
DeleteEzra is beautiful. And I can so relate to him being the hardest part about leaving when the time comes. Just had to do that a few days ago...enjoy your days left and take lots of photos!
ReplyDeleteChecking things off the to do list is quite satisfying!
Yes, I love the feeling of a completed to do list!!
DeleteFortunately being responsible adults no longer includes going to work!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that just the best?!
DeleteYour 2 weeks in one place is about my limit as well for staying in one place & for restless folks like us sitting in one spot for long periods of time can be a real challenge..
ReplyDeleteWe thought we might get away for a couple days on the beach, but all those responsible things filled up our calendar :-(
DeleteCompletely understand!! I know you're happy to be crossing all of that "necessary-but-not-fun" stuff off of the list so that you can get back on the road. And at the same time, it's hard to think of leaving family and friends behind, and especially darling little Ezra. So glad you're having this time with him now.
ReplyDeleteIt does feel good to know we got so much done and hopefully won't have to do most of it for quite awhile now.
DeleteHaving a phone and a computer will keep you in contact with your family no matter where you wander. Isn't that a great thing? At least the weather is nice where you're at so you don't have to worry about much snow while you hang around finishing up business. Enjoy your family, get things done and then head off to a new destination.
ReplyDeleteIt is so great that I can get a new pic on my phone every day! I'm also fortunate that my boys actually like to talk with me on the phone :-))))) We don't like to have to be here in the summer, but this time of year we're sure happy!!
DeleteNo matter how or where you live those dang responsibilities can't be put off forever. Nice to get to spend time with that little cutie.
ReplyDeleteHe is certainly a sweet reward for getting all this done :-)
DeleteWere in the same situation as you. "Home" for the holidays. 2 months though. We won't head to Quartzite to meet up with all the fellow RV friends until after Jan 1st. We're doing the same thing, doc visits, etc, etc. Love seeing family and friends. Even 2 months doesn't seem like enough time. I can't imagine how hard it will be to leave that sweet little guy behind. We hope to see you in Q sometime in January if you're there. I hope they are doing the Blogger Get-together again.
ReplyDeleteThought you might be back as well :-) We're in Q for the Xscapers Convergence on January 15-16 and probably a few days before and after that so we should definitely be able to finally meet up there!! Enjoy your time with family and friends - and getting your own to-do list done!
