Our last day at the river front site near Parker, AZ, this flock of black birds flew in. Don't know what they were, but there were lots of them! Each photo only caught about a third of them at any one spot. They continuously moved from bathing in the river, hopping in the rocks, and sitting in the trees squawking.
Just like they arrived, every one of them left at the same time.
On our day trip in the Turtle Mountain Wilderness I collected some calcedony roses and promised to post some pics. And then I forgot.....here they are.
He's growing up so fast that I just can't forget to include pics of Ezra - he's so dang cute! These are several weeks old already.
We're in Waddell, AZ, enjoying one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. Extended our time to fix a slide issue, a timely post coming soon :-)
I think that is a whole lot of grackles! What a hoot! They are noisy buggers!
ReplyDeleteEzra is awfully cute!
They were very noisy :-)
DeleteEzra is just darling. Love the outfit. Tessa looks quite pensive or maybe that's a far away dreamy look. I think those are boat tailed grackles and they are noisy and they travel in big flocks and if they hang around too long your car will be covered with white splats! Beautiful spot you are staying in now. Can't wait to hear about it.
ReplyDeleteFortunately this flock stayed away from the campground! Tessa was really wanting to go "talk" with the dog across the way, not take selfies :-)
DeleteThey look like Grackles to me as well, or Starlings.
ReplyDeleteSome of them did look like Starlings - it was weird because they didn't all look alike.
DeleteGreat photos of the birds but that little grandson of yours is real cutie .. And then there's Tessa!!..she's adorable !!
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely surrounded by cute!!
DeleteIt looks like both red winged blackbirds and boat tailed grackles together.
ReplyDeleteThey were sort of a hodge-podge - and with the red on the wings it looked like orange too.
DeleteEzra is sooo cute! And growing so fast!
ReplyDeleteEvery time we see him we can't believe how much he has changed! Always cute though :-))))
DeleteEzra is a doll and I'm sure his pictures are absolutely your favorites.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt!
DeleteLove those rocks! I need to find one:)
ReplyDeleteEzra is so darn cute. Glad you included photos:)
Sure hope you get your slide issue fixed. Good Luck!
I couldn't believe the rocks were just lying on top of the lava in that area. We're hoping this mobile tech can finally fix it for good!
DeleteEzra is such a cutie. I will have to watch for the calcedony roses
ReplyDeleteI think they're only found where there is heavy volcanic activity, but this was the first time I've seen so many of them.
DeleteLooks like a beautiful and peaceful spot! Ezra is such a cutie -- those big brown eyes! And Tessa is adorable as always. :-)
ReplyDeleteHe really is just the most adorable little guy. The videos they send are priceless.
